How to Turn Stainless Pan into Non Sticky Pan (怎样把不锈钢锅变成不沾锅)

怎样把不锈钢锅变成不沾锅 (Zen Yang Ba Bu Xiu Gang Guo Bian Cheng Bu Zhan Guo)


I have been using non sticky pans and woks for many years. They typically last for 2 years for me, and start becoming "sticky" and I have to buy new ones (what a waste!). I did some research online and found one super simple way to turn stainless pans into non sticky pans.

Steps

1. Use dish soap to clean a new stainless pan, rinse thoroughly.
2. Use medium heat to heat the pan to let any water evaporate.
3. Add 1-2 tablespoon canola oil (or any other cooking oil), evenly coat the oil to the surface including the inner vertical side of the pan, cover the pan to heat the pan for a few minutes or until some light fume coming up.
4. Turn off heat, move the pan off the heat.
5. Let the pan cool down in room temperature.
6. The pan becomes non sticky now.
7. After each use, avoid using dish soap to clean the pans. Use hot tap water and soft sponge to clean the pan. But if you have to, see the tip below.

Tip:

If after a few times of use, the pan might become sticky again, in this case, remove any food residue from the pan thoroughly, clean using dish soap, rinse clean, and repeat the process. It worked for me like a magic!
