Yam Dessert (糖山芋)
糖山芋 (Tang Shan Yu)
Some winter nights around 8, 9 pm, I craved some disserts. This yam dessert is so easy to make and the warm orange color is such pleasant for cold winter night.

Ingredients
- 1 lb. Yam
- 2 tablespoon canola oil
- 3 tablespoon sugar
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4
Cooking Steps
1. Get 1 yam about 1 lb., rinse clean, use a knife to remove the skin, cut into 3/4 inch wide 2 inch long slices. This takes about 5 minutes.
2 Add 2 tablespoon canola oil to a non sticky flat pan, place the yam slices evenly, cover the pan. Use median heat to pan fry for about 10 minutes or until the bottom side turns light golden brown.
3. Flip the yam slices, cover to pan fry for another 6 minutes or so.
4. Take out the yam slices. Add 3 tablespoon sugar, 1/8 cup water to the pan. Use medium heat to boil for about 3 minutes or until the water evaporates and the sauce becomes thick and sticky.
5. Put the yam slices back to the pan, mix with the sauce evenly for 1 minute or so.
