Ingredients

Follow the ingredients and preparation time in the recipes below:
Cooking Time:  15 minutes in addition to above preparation time
Servings: 12 pot stickers

Cooking Steps

1. Prepare the homemade dumpling wrapper.
2. Prepare the beef and red onion filling.
3. Follow the simple steps in how to make dumplings.
4. Get a non stick pan, add 2 tablespoon canola oil.
5. Place about 1 dozen dumplings evenly onto the pan (adjust based on the size of the pan), cover and use medium high heat to cook for 3-4 minutes, then turn heat to medium low to cook for 6 minutes or until the bottom of the dumpling turns golden brown.

6. Flip the dumpling, cover and use medium heat to cook for another 5 minutes or until the bottom turns golden brown.

   Tip:

  • The total cooking time depends on how big the dumpling is, how much filling, how much meat and the meat variety in the filling.
  • Beef tends to need more cooking time, the more meat in the filling, the longer the cooking time.
  • Use medium low heat to cook longer time, this will fully cook the meat in the filling and avoid burning the bottom of the dumpling.
7. Serve with simple sauce: Chinese black vinegar, soy sauce and chili oil, or go with this simple Sichuan hot sauce.
