Gravy with Roast Pork Juice (烤猪肉卤汁)

烤猪肉卤汁 (Kao Zhu Rou Lu Zhi)


I have been thinking of making gravy for many years, finally it is time to give it a try. The result turned to be surprisingly good.

Ingredients
Cooking Time:  8 minutes

Cooking Steps

1. Medium heat a pan with 2 tablespoon canola oil, add 1/4 cup flour, stir evenly for 3 minutes or until the flour becomes light brown.



2. Add the juice from roast pork butt to the pan, stir evenly.


3. Add 2 cups of water, boil, then simmer, stir evenly for 5 minutes. Add salt to taste if needed.





Note the roast pork juice might have plenty of salt, add more water if needed.
