15 Minutes Stir Fried Pork Slices with Fresh Garlic Chive and Thai Chili (青蒜泰椒炒肉丝)

This pork stir fry with fresh garlic chive is no doubt a classic Chinese dish, it has the fresh garlic aroma that stimulates the appetite in any season. Chinese people typically make this dish during early summer time when the garlic chives are abundant and great to boost appetite when weather is getting warmer.

Ingredients
  • 1/3 lb. pork meat
  • 1/3 lb. fresh garlic chive (available in most Chinese grocery stores)
  • 1 Thai chili
  • 2 tablespoon canola oil
  • A pinch of salt
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 2

Cooking Steps

1. Get about 1/3 pork meat, cut into slices.
2. Get about 1/3 lb. fresh garlic chives (available in most Chinese grocery stores), cut off the root part, rinse clean under tap water, cut into slices.



3. Heat a non sticky wok, add 1 tablespoon canola oil, 1 fine chopped Thai chili, heat the oil and chili for a couple of minutes to let the aroma come out.

Tip: Add more Thai chili to your taste.


4. Add the pork slices to the wok, stir evenly for about 3 minutes or until the meat turns light golden brown.


Tip: If you like to save time further more, just make stir fried pork slices ahead of time.

6. Push the pork slices to one side of the wok, add the garlic chives, sprinkle 1 tablespoon canola oil to the chive, stir evenly for 2 minutes, add a pinch of salt, mix chive with meat, stir fry for another few minutes to fully cook the chive.


7. This dish is perfect with plain steamed rice.
